On Tuesday, November 22nd Ryerson Student
Housing will collaborate with Health Promotion to educate and inform students
in residence about various health related topics relevant to them. The topics
to be addressed include: drugs and alcohol, physical health, mental health and
of course, sex. Interactive activities will be used to engage students in
learning about the effects of alcohol and stress. From answering trivia
questions to walking around wearing beer goggles, students will have a chance
to learn about issues affecting one’s health through conversations as well as
life-like experiences.
The purpose of this event is to encourage students to
maintain a healthy lifestyle amid the craziness of their school schedule. This
health fair will also teach students strategies and methods for how they can be
more in control of their personal well-being.
Students will not only learn how to improve their mental and
physical health, but they will also be taught how to engage in other activities
generally tied to the lifestyle of an undergrad in healthy ways. If you are a
student feeling weighed down by the burden of your books or need tips on how to
know your limit, come out to the Pitman lobby on Tuesday between the hours of
6:30 and 8:30 PM and get with it.
